Wheeler’s Maple is a celebration of Canadian culinary tradition, rooted in generations of sugarmaking. Begin your visit with a warm, made-from-scratch meal at the pancake house, where maple syrup is the star of every plate. Step into the Maple Heritage Museum to discover the time-honoured techniques behind this iconic ingredient, then browse the shop for small-batch maple products crafted on-site. Rich in flavour and heritage, a visit to Wheeler’s is a delicious journey into one of Ontario’s sweetest traditions.
Back Forty Artisan Cheese
Nestled in the heart of the countryside, Back Forty Artisan Cheese is a haven for cheese enthusiasts and lovers of fine craftsmanship. Their small-batch cheese-making operation is a labour of love, rooted in tradition and fueled by passion. Their shop offers a full selection of their raw-sheep’s milk cheeses, as well as a range of locally made products including cured meats, honey, maple syrup, chocolate, coffee beans, preserves and Back Forty’s own farm raised grass-fed organic lamb, Highland Beef, and whey-fed pork.
Before exploring the shop, enjoy a farm-to-table lunch in their outdoor live fire kitchen. All the produce served is grown in Back Forty’s organic garden and the meats are all raised on the farm. Their licensed riverside patio features Ontario craft beer, cider, and wine.
Scheuermann Vineyard & Winery
Here, you are invited to embark on a journey of wine discovery and relaxation, lose yourself in the rustic romance and enjoy a super hip atmosphere. Step into the vineyard, where rows of meticulously tended vines stretch towards the horizon, basking in the warm sunlight and rich soils that define our terrior. From crisp whites to robust reds, their handcrafted wines are a testament to their commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
